    Long ago a man was coming home from town and it was very late.

    the road towards him. As it drew near it seemed to him to be a woman, and she turned up the road again but she was walking very slowly. The man soon got up to her but he could not pass her out because she was walking from side to side of the road. This man was not easily frightened. Then he said to her what did she mean and to let him pass by but he got no reply. She kept on before him until she reached Scannell fort field where she disappeared. The next night the same thing happened, the third night he saw the same woman but he was prepared for her. He had a piece of hazel stick in his hand and he wheeled it around him because people say say the hazel is blessed, she
