    In olden times people used wear no shoes until they were young men and young women.

    named Jack Mahony and he never wore shoes and he was a fine strong man.
    At present the children go barefoot in the summer time because the ground is very warm but they don't go barefoot in winter because it is very cold. Boots are made and repaired in the district by the people.
    It is usually clogs or shoes with wooden soles. That were used by them long ago. It is in the winter they are usually worn. They are great in the frost.
    Long ago leather was made in the district at a certain time of the year. Foot coverings were worn long ago by the people.
