  1. To make a "bostoon" get seven long rushes or so and wind another long rush around them and fasten it at the top and you have a nice stick called a "bostoon".
    To make a soaker get a piece of leather about the size of a penny and bore a hole in the centre of it. Through this hole put a long cord and make a knot at the end of it. Things can be lifted from the ground by wetting the soaker and by pressing it against the object you want to pick up.
