  1. It was a custom at the wakes to give pipes and tobacco and snuff. It was also a custom it give away the clothes and before they game them away make a heap of them in the middle of the floor and sprinkle holy water on them.
    It is also a custom not to open a grave on Monday.
    When people take a bottle of holy water to the grave yard they should never bring home the bottle.
    A person should never go against a funeral.
    It is a custom at wakes to stop the clock.
    A person should never use a pin in putting on to the dead persons clothes.
