  1. Lime Kiln: -
    There is a kiln in a farm of land owned by Michael Murphy, Carrueragh, Knockanure. It was built there in 1870. It was in Listowel the limestone was got. The last time it was used in 1913. It was not used since, because it was too costly to bring limestone there.
    Candle Making: -
    Michael Murphy Carrueragh, Knockanure, who died in the year 1885 and aged 71 yrs, used to make candles of tallow. He melted the tallow and pulled up the wick through the mould and then pour in the tallow. It was in the year 1880 the last candles were made in Carrueragh.
