People generally get married during Shrove.

People generally get married during Shrove. Mondays and fridays are unlucky days for getting married. Wednesday is the fashionable day in England and America for marrying. The month of May is an unlucky month for getting married. Long ago people used go to the chapel to be married and the couple used home on horseback. The night of the wedding the straw-boys used come to the house with hats made of straw and masks on their faces. They used spend the night dancing and singing.
