    Stephen Kennelly, Leitrim, used to make baskets for carrying eggs and holding potatoes. Sally Day who was living in Newtownsandes used to spin and weave flax and tow. John Kennelly used make candles out of the fat of a cow. First of all he used to melt the fat and then pour it into a mould.
    My Grandfather used make firkins and barrels. A great number of the people had lime kilns. They used go the quarry for the lime stones and then break it up and then put every second layer of turf and lime stone and they set fire to it.
