  1. Some houses in the olden times were made of mud and others made of stones, with only one room in them.
    They used straw for thatch on the roof.
    The bed used be in the kitchen.
    It used be in a hold in the wall and it was called the "Cailleach"
    The children slept in it.
    The fire place used be in a gable end of the house.
    There used be no real chimney in any house only a hole in the roof to let the smoke out.
