  1. Beggars, and gipsies and tinkers call at our house very often.
    It is mostly the same people who call always.
    The Reillys are from some place around here but I do not know where.
    The Raineys are from Kilkerrin and that is all I know.
    The tinkers sell tins and sauce- pans and the gipsies sell carpets and lace.
    The things that the sell they buy in shops.
    The tinkers prefer money but the beggars prefer tea to a plate of flour.
    These are the prayers they say: God increase you store" to "that you may be in your health this time seven years.
    They do not tell stories in the houses nowadays and the neighbours do not come to the houses to listen to them because they have something else to
