  1. There was a man living in Esker once and he was very fond of card- playing. One night he was coming home across the fields about one o'clock and he had to pass and old Lusheen.
    When he was passing it he saw a black man. The man ran out before him and asked him if there was any other one with him and the young man said there was not. Then the black man beat and the man ran home and he never went out again after sunset.
