  1. There is a holy well near Ballygar and people go there on the fifteenth of October each year. They would go around the well fifteen times and then on their knees. They would have fifteen pieces of rushes and then throw one away for each round.
    There was an old woman sitting there once and she had charge of the well. The people would give her a few coppers and she would give them a drink of the water out of a cup. I drank the water there myself.
