    one person had to hold the little stand while the person who was ironing went round with edge of cap carefully between first finger and thumb of both hands. Bit by bit wed be left on iron, pressed on it and at even distances the whole cap or bonnet edge was a line of little ripples or furrous.
    Other articles of clothing were pressed by sitting on them and no iron was used.

  2. The people got a lot of cipins and put them in a cloth and tied them and put them in a pot to boil, and this made dye, for clothes leather etc. It was only one colour and that was dark brown. The dye that is out now is not worth a d-m,. After paying six-pence a packet for it.
