She pulled the rider down
The first thing was made of him
It a bird so wild Hold fast hold fast

One day I was digging dyke in the bogs of Alee
I said to myself was a pity to see
Such a clever young man digging dykes in the bogs of Alee
I buttered my broges (greased them) and shook hands to my spade
And went to the market like a dashing young blade
Up comes the Seargent and asked me to list
