- There are no tailors in my district but there are three tailors in Carrick-on-Shannon town which is only a mile from my home. They work in their homes. The tailors stock cloth.

The tailors use a sewing machine, a table, a scissors, a thimble a knife a measuring tape, chalk and a "goose (tailors iron).
Socks and stockings are bought.
Thread is not spun in the homes.
