- There are no tailors in my district but there are three tailors in Carrick-on-Shannon town which is only a mile from my home. They work in their homes. The tailors stock cloth.
The cloth is not spun or woven locally.
The types of cloth used locally are serge and tweeds.
The tailors use a sewing machine, a table, a scissors, a thimble a knife a measuring tape, chalk and a "goose (tailors iron).
Socks and stockings are bought.
Thread is not spun in the homes.
There are no accounts of shirts or clothes made from flax grown locally. There are no sayings or traditions in this district connected with tailors or tailoring.
