La Touche came to Ireland after the French Revolution. He bought the estate from "Gore". Gore retired to the present seat in Co. Sligo Lisadell. The Gores came to Ireland in some of the earlier plantations than Cromwells and were here 1641 and Sir Charles Coothe visited it.
They lived in Drumharney. The old house disappeared about one hundred or more years ago and La Touche built what we see today.
