Larry was born in Deffier on the land now owned by Paddy Mahon. He took the smallpox when a boy or a child and was blind afterwards. He was a great fiddler and had a valuable fiddle. No dance or wedding was complete without Larry. His fame went far and near. In his old age when he could not or was not able to walk he was brought on a hand barrow to play. Larry is dead over one hundred years.
