An Old woman Mary Henry of Aughafin, Arigna Co Roscommon gave me this piece of a song which she heard when a little girl.

An old woman Mary Henry of Aughafin Arigna Co Roscommon gave me this piece of a song which she heard when a little girl. Mary is now 76 years. It was supposed to be about an [?] in Aughafin.
"Farewell to the [cat?] on the mountain and the cradle that lulled me to sleep
Tears falling from [?] lone fountain
As the breeze oer the waves of the deep.
Land of the loveliest and fairest
Imagine where so eer I may roam
Every night as I rest on my pillow
I pray for the wanderer's home
Farewell to the sod that my father lies under
And the home that his children must shun
    (Mary's memory fails here)
