  1. About 150 years ago when tea, was first introduced in Ireland the following incident happened in the home of a family surnamed Gihain living in townland of Derinageer. The priest had just celebrated mass and the old woman the house was preparing his breakfast. This is how she set about making the tea. She got a little pot and boiled a few handfuls of the tea.
