  1. Father O'Rourke was a Leitrim man. He was a Parish Priest in Ballinaglera. The yeomen followed him from this parish to Roscommon. He hid behind Siodh Beag hill and escaped. He was found dead there some time afterwards.
In the Penal Times, mass used to be said at Tobar Boithi in Clerharnmore in the parish of Ballinaglera. There was a monastery at Tobar Bhoithi and a bishop was consecrated there.
Mass was also celebrated on Drumristan Rock. There was an old church in Druminnafinla.
These places are still to be seen.
(Mary Mc Gourty, from her grandmother, Mrs. Maria Mc Gourty of Aughrim, Ballinaglera, Co. Leitrim)
