    That evening in Straroghan,
    They were perished in the deep.
    Now parting at the harbour,
    Johnny this did say,
    Be quick to make your markets,
    It's early in the day.
    They all agreed but two or three,
    To sail along the shore,
    But the Lord decreed as you may see,
    Poor Johnny is no more.
    Early in the morning they all prepared to go,
    Johnny took the helm and the other three to row,
    John Owens and Terence Carrigan and Myley Beag were four,
    Four lads of neat young fellows and females half a score.
    At seven in the evening now Johnny gave commands,
    Row on my hearty comrades, the wind is getting strong,
    If we gain shelter of the grove will sail to the new quay,
    Where there will land these women and cast anchor until day.
    When death made its appearance and darkness filled the skies,
    The neighbours round the harbour, they heard the deadly cries,
    With torches they came instantly to give them some relief
