On this page

  1. There is an old road leading from Cavan to Leitrim through the townlands Aralougher & Dervolanagher & Umera.
It crosses the Owennayle River just beside main road leading from NewBridge church to Coolegraine R.C.
It goes from Derry to Sligo.
An old man told me it is one of the oldest roads in Ireland if not the oldest.
The French are supposed to have travelled by this road & Sir Frederick Hamilton and his army.
