  1. (continued from previous page)
standing by with a heavy heart and a mournful sigh.
Anyone says this prayer morning and evening shall never die with a sudden death or suffer the pains of hell. Amen
This prayer was to be had in the time of my great grand father. I heard it from my mother.

  2. As I lie on my bed to sleep I give my soul to God to keep and if any evil troubles me may the Blessed Virgin Mary come down and waken me.
There are four corners on my bed. There are four angels on its spread. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John God bless all on the bed that I lie on.
As I lie on my bed to sleep I give my soul to God to keep. If I die before I wake I give my soul to God to take.
