“There was a man one time and he used to skin cows when they died...”
There was a man one time and he used to skin cows when they died. One night he was called and was asked would he come with a man to skin a cow. This man said he had a long journey to go but that he would leave him back safe. So he brought him to a big valley in which there was a castle where there was a large number of fairies. The man that brought him told him to neither eat or drink, take no money or compensation for his work. When he had his work done he was put down to a table with all sorts of tempting food and drink. They offered him much money but he would not take any. In the castle also was a school with a teacher teaching children. Among the children he noticed his own little girl that had died some years before. As he passed by, the child smiled to him and he longed to take her with him.(continues on next page)- Collector
