  1. Breffni was the home of many a refugee. These events happened about 1778. In the reign of George III of England. Áltábhrae, Ált a Bhrae nó Ált a Bhrathair, Craobh a Liath, Cillfhearga.
    The Mass rock is in Gawlan, Gabhlán, Craobh a Liath, north-west of Ált a' Bhrathair.
    Aughrim is in Baile na gCléarach.
    Tobair Phadraigh is in Aughna Sheelin, Baile na gCléarach.
    Dermot Donn, Coraleehan, Aughnasheelin fought in the Irish Brigade on the Continent. He escaped to the Continent after the Battle at the Ford. The priest was Fr O Corneen ( or Giolla Cnaw) (Ford). Fr. O Curneen is buried in Inch Is., Lough Allen. Fr Thomas Ford P.P. buried 1853 in Kilbride, Innismagráth, Drumkeerin.
