  2. My Grand father was evicted and put out on the road side because he would not pay his rent. The men came and battered the house and threw out all the house utensils. The landlord was Johnston and his agent was Christopher H. Maud. It was Maud who evicted my grand father James Fallon Caralaur. He would not surrender. There was a house called the land league house built in Moderragh in one day by all the men of the district every man with a cart brought a cart or two of stones. It was built on an old road owned by no one. Other evictions at the same time Peter O'Rorke Corkhill, Pat Dolan, Greyfield, and many other people on the Montgomery Property - agent George Huston, Dromahair. This happened in 1898.
