    proud and it was decency they valued not money. They always boasted about some one in office or in a position much as a landlords agent or anyone related to such people. That is where the pride came in. The bride and groom wanted to have the wind blowing in their backs for good luck and long life for the bride. The bride used to ride behind her husband on horseback. A wedding procession followed and every two linked arms and a fiddler played. At night the straw-boys came under order from a captain and sergaent. They danced and cheered and very often fought. The helmets were made of staw and they turned their clothes inside out. About ninty years ago the priest performed the sacrament of marriage in the bride's father's house
