  1. Hidden Treasure
    There is supposed to be hidden treasure in a small lake on the top of Benbo mountain in the parish of Drumlease. It is so long there that it is not known to whom it belonged or who placed it there. Several attempts have been made to drain the lake but no one has ever been successful. Near the lake lived a man named Duncan who dreamed three nights in succession of a treasure at the bottom of the lake. Some time later he went to the lake accompanied by a neighbour. The man who dreamed of the gold went into the lake and the other man stayed at the edge of the water. When the man went down to the bottom he saw a snake sleeping soundly lying near the gold. He took off his hat and filled it with gold and came up again. He did the same the next time. But before he went the third time he was cautioned that he would be eaten by the snake. He gave no heed
