In later years people began to knit wollen caps for women and every woman wore a shawl. The young women used to go out to mass with the white cap and a plaid square of cloth left down on the top of the cap. The women wore bonets made from straw or wheat and trimmed with feathers and ribbons. The old people knitted gloves locally and shirts were made locally.
