  1. Long ago a man named O'Brien hanged himself on O'Donnell's Rock in a lyre belonging to Mr. O'Donnell. It happened that a great fiddler known as Owrey Berthy was living in that district then. He used to play at the dances and weddings that took place for miles around. One night as Owrey was returning from a dance he came face to face with the man who hanged himself at the lyre. The gallows was round his neck and his hair was standing on end. To give himself courage the fiddler turned up his fiddle and continued to play as he saw homewards. The ghost pursued him till he reached his home and then disappeared. Ever since this place is supposed to be haunted and the neighbors so not like passing the shot after dark.
