    burning woods. The tithes were collected by Mr. Vaugh who was Latooch's tax collector. In case he did not get money he took some cattle. The people had to call at the office in Dromahair to pay the rent. Mr. Montgomery was another landlord who lived about two miles from Killargue. This man was very rich. Some people were evicted by Montgomery and they had to go to Donegal and other poor parts of the country to make a living. This man was very rich in early days but he was nearly starving when he was old because his tenants refused to pay the taxes. After battles had been fought on account of evictions
