  1. Toys now made by children in my district are fie-fays, marbles, men, houses and other things from daub, squirters, spinney-jinneys, pipes, catapults, rush whips and carts. These were also made long ago.
    Fie-fays: Fie fays are made from pieces of straw. The straw is clipped to about four inches long with a knot on one end of it. A tongue is cut below the know. The straw is placed in the mouth until the tongue is covered and then blown into. It makes a noise like a toy bugle.
    Marbles men, houses These are made from daub the same way as they are made from plasticine.
