  1. A mermaid was seen on Lough Belhavel by Martin Clancy and certain fisherman. They were out in a boat fishing and they saw the mermaid sitting on a rock combing her hair. She had long golden hair and the lower part of her body was like that of a fish and the upper part like the head and shoulders of a woman. The fishermen left shortly after they saw her.
