- The following story was told by a man who is still living in the townland of Borglancy, parish of Killinummery, Co. Leitrim. He was one night coming from a neighbouring house, and to his amazement he saw a very queen looking object, as he thought himself, on a very lonely road. It had a man's body, and a donkey's head. This is really true, because several people always see this object, when once it goes past twelve o'clock at night. He was coming back the same way another night, and a man about seven foot hight, walked with him from an old gate, on the side of this lonely road. The traveller spoke to the very tall man, but received no answer. He spoke again but still received no answer, until he (the tall man) disappeared at an old gap, about three yards along the way-side. I often heard the old people say, that this was always a remarkable road for ghosts, as many a time various apparitions were seen. n one Summer's evening two people were travelling on that road(continues on next page)
