  1. Old Prayers
    (1) Lord be the bramble, Lady be with the flower, Jesus be with me in my dying hour.
    (2) Jesus my Saviour, my God my friend.
In life and in death my soul defend.
In joy and sorrow, in good and ill.
Be thou my hope and protector still
    (3) Thus guarded in life and in death may I be,
And Jesus be forever a Jesus to me
    (4) O sweetest heart of Jesus I implore,
That I may ever love thee more and more
    (5) My joy, thy glory, my hope, thy name,
    Aimable Jesus my heart inflame,
In virtues way all my steps direct,
    Powerful Jesus, my soul protect.
