    the well. Law proceedings were instituted to determine the ownership of the well. One the morning on which the court was to decide this long dispute it was found that the disputed well had dried completely up and that it had burst out on the embankment of the railway which apparently belongs to no one. This is now one of the finest sulphur wells in the west of Irealnd.

  2. In the townland of Barrick - a - Brochery some years ago a mine was discovered (?) old disused mine. It was a local tradition that this mine was worked aobut two hundred years ago by two French men and English man. They were supposed to take 'ore' of some kind which was mined there which they brought on pack horses to Sligo and was shipped from there.
    About four years ago some local men decided to find out the truth of this
