  1. It's then I took another March
    A day or two ago.
Into a house not far away
Some of you ought to know
I gave the door a gentle knock
    To see who was within
And Rose kind bear in mind
    She gently asked me in
    II
It's there we did converse awhile
    On matters of the past
She asked me for my photograph,
And she placed it under glass
My photo was an awful sight
    For anyone to see
And if you saw it once or twice you'd speak no more to me
    III
I love you with my whole design
    These words she did repeat
And if I see you come again
It's you I'll go to meet
You say you'll come to meet me
I'm glad to hear the news
But if you say you'll wed me
    None other one I'll choose.
