So she came back into the house again, the gentleman was watching her for the whole time and he thought that it was for a load of gold that she was coming this time. So she said to him "get up on my back now, you are the third load," and he said to her "bring back the two children sure I might as well live here as go away with you." So she brought back the children then and they lived happy every after.

  2. Once upon a time long ago there was an Irish soldier who left the regiment and went through the country as a tramp. He walked until he came to a house and here he was told he would be given £100 if he could stay in a haunted house till morning. He agreed, so he was led to the house, a dog a cat left with him for company and food for both. But no other company could he have but the animals. He sat at the fire till midnight. At midnight soot fell down the chimney "dam that soot" said the soldier then a voice spoke out of the chimney. "Will you fight a duel" said the voice, "I will" said the soldier. Then a man appeared at the fire, and the fought and fought until at last the soldier cut the head off
