“On St Brigid's Eve crosses are made from rushes.”
On St. Brigids Eve - crosses are made from rushes the youngest person in the house goes around the house three times and then then kneels on the threshold outside knocks three times + says "Down on your knees and let Brigid in" + those inside say "Brigid is welcome" The Crosses are left aside and then blessed on All Saints Day.On St Patricks Day Irish Catholics wear Shamrocks in honour of the Blessed Trinity. Bands are played in towns and all people march behind them in honour of St. Patrick.(continues on next page)
