some time ago 'nails' were all made by hand, by a man called the 'nailer' horse shoe nails, slating nails and all types of commonly used nails.
Rope making - ropes were also made from flaggers and rushes. They were picke dand left in the out house to season for a week or so. Then they were beetled down with a strong stick or pounder and afterwards twisted into ropes. This ropes are used mostly for carrying loads of hay and as shancals for animals.
Basket making - is and has been a common industry in this locality. There are several kinds of baskets (used) made and
