shaped like a cup and used for drinking purposes and also wood pails and dishes and crankskeems which were pieces of wood about one foot long shaped like a spoon and for the same purpose.

Starch was also made in this district in olden times. The people used to peel potatoes and grate them and ring them and leave the juice to settle. Then they strained off the water and boiled the remains which formed starch and this they used for starching clothes.
