  1. Long ago when people had the hooping cough they got a live trout and put it into water and drank out of its mouth. Another cure for the hooping cough was to run out under a horse or a donkey.
    Many people had cures for sprains. Whoever had the cure rubbed the sprain with his hand and said the words. But no person could hear them if they did the power would leave the person.
    Long ago when people got a burn manur [?] was got and put on the burn at once. Another cure for a burn was to get a raw potato and cut it into halves and put it on the burn.
    The cure for chin cough was the food that a ferret refused and if the patient got better the ferret would die.
    The cure for measels was to put you into a sweated house and the measels would go away.
    The cure for jaundice was boiled milk and snails. The snails were boiled with the milk and the liquid was taken.
    There was a man who lived in Tullyskearney named Mr Bredin who had the cure for toothache.
