  1. Old people used to say it was not right to cut a bush in a fort. On one occasion a man cut a bush in a fort, and while doing so he took a fierce pain in his knee, and afterwards lost the power of it forever. It was believed the fairies injured him because he interfered with the fort.

  2. In some families when there is anyone dying the bean sidh always cries the night before. She was heard crying somewhere about Skreeney an that night a girl named Mc Adoo was drowned near the place where she heard. The girl fell off a hand railing which crossed the river and it is said it was for her the banshee cried.
