  1. During the penal times around this district masses were said in three places:-
    Ballaghmeehan, Straduffy and Cashel.
    It is said that during this time there was a woman who had a son a priest and she hardly ever went to mass. One time her son came home on his holidays and he asked used she go often to Confession and Holy Communion, so she said she went very seldom. When the priest was going back from his holidays he gave a box to his mother and told her to go to mass every Sunday and holiday from now till I come back this time next years. And every time you go to Mass drop a pebble in this box.
    So the woman did as she was told and
