  1. The Saint that is traditionally connected with this district is Saint Molaise.
    The Shrine of Saint Molaise was made early in the 11th century hold a manuscript copy of the Gospel believed to have been written by the Saint who died in 563. The case is formed of bronze overlaid with silver, and is enlaid with panels of interlaced ornament in gold filigree. The Shrine was in the keepership of the O Meehan's of Ballaghmeehan, Co. Leitrim until about the year 1859 when it was obtained by the Royal Irish Academy. It is now in the National Museum in Dublin. Saint Molaise started to build a wall round Rossinver graveyard.
