  1. We have a churn at home. It is three feet high and two feet wide at top and bottom. The sides are straight. It is three years old.
    Butter is made once a week in winter and four times a week in summer. Every one in the house helps to do the churning and strangers who come in during the churning help at the work because if they would'nt it is said they would bring away the butter. The churning takes about one hour and sometimes more according to how much milk is to be churned.
