  1. One time Master McGuire asked a man would he come to him to put out as much manure as would be sufficient to put in three roods of potatoes. He told him to bring an ass with him. The man had no ass and he got a carrying creel and said he would carry it out on his back. It was nine oclock when he started and it was eight oclock when he stopped. During that time he put out as much manure as was sufficient to put in the three roods of potatoes. He had about one hundred yards to carry it.
