  1. The Banshee

The Banshee was heard by Nurse McGowan of Kiltyclogher.

The Banshee was heard by Nurse McGourty of Kiltyclogher. She heard him at half past ten P.M. It was heard after a woman called Mrs. Carroll, just a few hours before she died. It was in a house in which she lived for a long time and then left and went to Fermanagh to live. Bernard Meehan is living in the house now. It was heard over at the house. She was dead the next morning.
He was heard another night by Charles McGuire and his wife of (Gortnaderry) "the field of the oak." It was two hours before he died that he was heard. He was out behind the house crying. The next morning when Kathyleen MaGuire looked up at the house she saw two lit candles on the top of the house. The man that died was James keany.
