  1. Sir Frederick Hamilton lived in a castle which he built in 1636, in Manorhamilton. He had a great amount of gold. Eoghan Rúadh O'Neill burned the castle in 1641 but Sir Frederick was hanged on Saddle Hill. Some friend of Hamilton's got the gold and was bringing it down by Straduffy Bog, there he lost it and it never yet was found.
