Oh! Loftus dear what did you say

Oh! Loftus dear what did you say
In Newport town the other day
That you and all your babes of grace
"Was' forced to leave your former place
And hide from us their "purty' face
Oh! Wirra Thu Oh! Wirra Thu

  2. St Brigid's Eve: A person gets rushes and comes to the door of the house and says "Dia is Muire". A person in the house asks "Cé h-é sin?" The person outside replies "Teigh cimceall go du an doras eile". "Brighid" goes to the other door and says, "God save all here." The reply from inside is Welcome Brígid". A rug is spread on the floor on which to place the rushes. The Rosary is then said and all the family make crosses.
