    A butt is larger than a firkin
    About the end of Summer a tub might be used for holding the butter because milk is getting scarce at that time of the year. In Glencar there is a man who can make firkins and butts. This man is over ninety years of age and he is still able to go about the place.
    When Creameries were established this trade died out because people sent the milk to the Creamery and there were no butts or firkins needed. The man who made firkins and butts was known as Charlie Parker. He is living in Drumahon.
